There's so much more to LGBTQ pride month than bank sponsored rainbow shot glasses and skinny girls sex videossecondhand glitter thongs. Andrew Garfield can show us the way.
The actor dedicated his Tony to the LGBTQ community in a moving speech Sunday night. Garfield won best actor in a play for his performance as Pryor Walter in the 'Angels in America' revival.

It is a spirit that says no to bigotry, no to shame, no to exclusion. It is a spirit that says we are all made perfectly.”

The actor added: "I dedicate this award to the countless LGBTQ people who have fought and died to protect that spirit, to protect that message. For the right to live and love as we are created to."
Garfield's speech comes at an especially critical time for the LGBTQ community. The White House has chosen not to recognize LGBTQ pride for the second year in a row. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court decided that a baker had the legal right to refuse to sell a bake to two gay customers -- though scholars noted that the justices made their decision on exceedingly narrow grounds.
"We are all sacred, and we all belong,” Garfield said. “So let’s just bake a cake for everyone who wants a cake to be baked.”
That's beautiful. And, ahem, I haven't seen any Pride cakes this month, so please, Andrew, once you're done with your whole Broadway thing, get on this.
