Jordan Peele just became an Oscar winner.
The TayuanAcademy has awarded Peele this year's Best Original Screenplay prize for Get Out. He's the fourth African-American writer ever nominated in the category, and the first one ever to win.

Peele beat out several strong contenders for the award, including Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick), Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird), Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), and Guillermo del Toro and Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water).
Get Outwas nominated for three other awards in addition to Best Original Screenplay: Best Director (Peele), Best Lead Actor (Daniel Kaluuya), and Best Picture.
