A new Naomi Osaka fan emerged at the 2021 Australian Open in the form of graceful974 Archives friendly butterfly.
While Osaka was out on the court mid-match against Tunisia's Ons Jabeur during their women's singles match on Friday a fan yelled, "There's a butterfly on your legs." Before serving, Osaka took time to not only acknowledge the butterfly, but to gently escort the insect off of the court.
The Women's Tennis Association tweeted a clip that shows Osaka walking the butterfly to the edge of the court and attempting to safely release it into the air. During the exchange the butterfly lands on Osaka's legs, arms, and even face.
