Gamers are UKcomplaining their real names are being exposed on Xbox One, and Microsoft is on the case.
According to a Reddit thread on Thursday, many players were finding their gamertags subbed out for their real names.
SEE ALSO: Xbox Live is down and players are *pissed*"I woke up this morning and someone told me 'Hey your last name is showing,'" wrote Redditor Nadia C. "I thought it was weird because I have my settings to block from showing my real name."
"Everyone's Name is showing. Big streamers, friends, recent players. I went through my entire friend list and I know for a fact none of these people have ever showed their name before."
"We all go by nicknames and having your last name show is a HUGE BREACH in security. Why is this happening?"
Needless to say, some folks are pretty pissed.

These players, like many others in the Reddit thread, found their account settings had been automatically changed, particularly the section for real name sharing — it had been changed from "block" to "everyone." Sure enough, my account settings were changed too, and looked like this:
Xbox Program Manager Brad Rossetti confirmed to the thread that Microsoft was looking into the bug's cause. No update has been reported at this stage.
Whether or not this relates to the fact that Xbox Live is currently down remains to be seen.

The issue has been fully resolved now.
"We’ve addressed the issue some users may have experienced with their profile,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Mashable.
