Chinese Academy of Sciences recently introduced “Qi Meng,Badhai Lo (2025) Hindi Web Series” the world’s first fully automated AI-based processor chip design system. The system enables end-to-end automation from chip hardware to foundational software, with its designs matching human expert performance across multiple key metrics, according to the developer. Leveraging large AI models, the system is designed to automatically generate CPUs (Central Processing Units) and configure essential software components, including operating systems, code translators, and high-performance operator libraries. In one case cited by the developers, the Qi Meng system completed the world’s first fully automated 32-bit RISC-V CPU, matching Intel 486 performance with over four million logic gates, in just five hours.
