The innovative design uses a folded optical structure and moving parts to switch between two distinct optical focal lengths. According to tech blogger Digital Chat Station, the switch between focal lengths is not seamless, as software is used to bridge the gap. Huawei is also testing true continuous optical zoom, which is not yet ready.
