Woody Allen,Busty Cops on Patrol (2009) who was accused of sexual assault by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, has a new public supporter in Alec Baldwin.
Baldwin hopped on Twitter on Tuesday to broadcast his two cents on the situation, writing that working with Allen three times "was one of the privileges of my career," and that the backlash against him is "unfair and sad."
SEE ALSO: Dylan Farrow questions Hollywood's enduring blind spot for Woody AllenDylan Farrow, who was adopted by Allen and actress Mia Farrow, says Allen sexually assaulted her in the attic when she was 7 years old. She first publicly accused Allen of the assault in a 2014 open letter published by the New York Times, in which she said he'd often "place his head in my naked lap and breathe in and breathe out."
Allen has adamantly disputed her account.
"Woody Allen was investigated forensically by two states (NY and CT) and no charges were filed," tweeted Baldwin, who worked with Allen on 2012's To Rome with Love. "The renunciation of him and his work, no doubt, has some purpose. But it’s unfair and sad to me."

Yes, a custody judge in the '90s could not conclude whether Allen molested Farrow, and the case did not go to criminal trial. But that does not mean that Farrow's claims can be entirely dismissed. Justice Elliott Wilk said during the ruling, "We will probably never know what occurred on August 4, 1992...[but] Mr. Allen’s behavior toward Dylan was grossly inappropriate and...measures must be taken to protect her.”
A few hours later on Tuesday, Baldwin added, "Is it possible to support survivors of pedophilia and sexual assault/abuse and also believe that WA is innocent? I think so."

Farrow, who recently slammed supporters of the Time's Up movement who continue to work with Allen, will appear in her first television interview on Thursday, Jan. 18. She talked to CBS This Morningco-host Gayle King about the allegations, and spoke about Hollywood's Time's Up movement.
“I am credible, and I am telling the truth, and I think it’s important that people realize that one victim, one accuser, matters. And that they are enough to change things,” the press release quotes Farrow as saying.
With multiple stars, including Greta Gerwig and Mira Sorvino, speaking out in support of Farrow in recent weeks, Baldwin could end up on the wrong side of history.
