It's been a few months since it was announced that Donald Glover's heavily-anticipated Deadpool animated TV series,Honeymoon 2 (2022) Hindi Short Film to be produced for FX, was being shelved. But we finally have a few more details about why that came to be, thanks to FX chief John Landgraf.

“They [Marvel] didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done the show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them, as did Donald and Stephen.”
Well, then.
This is as specific a reason as we've heard since the March news that the show wasn't happening and that the three entities -- Glover, Marvel, and FX -- were parting ways. It's a bit of a sensitive situation since this triangle has a few other relationships ongoing: Marvel and FX work together on Legionand, of course, Glover and FX have had huge success with Atlanta.
The old "creative differences" reason was given for the original split, and Glover himself reacted by tweeting he wasn't "too busy" to do the show, as some rumors suggested. He then tweeted out pages of a script for a Deadpoolepisode that may or may not have been real. (For what it's worth, all of those original Glover tweets have since been deleted.)
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
As for the future of a Deadpool show, Landgraf said, "I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights. They own the IP and they have the rights to do an animated adult series based on any of the X-Men characters, and based on Deadpool specifically."
Glover, for what it's worth, has been cranking right along with the jaw-dropping "This is America" video, his star turn in Solo, and his twin-summer-jam releases. And we're sure he's got something else brilliant up his sleeve, whether its a Marvel project or not.
