At the UNICEF Snowflake gala at Cipriani Wall Street last night, Clinton made an impromptu appearance to introduce Perry, who was being honored with the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award.

“I have seen Katy's commitment to the causes she believes in firsthand,” Clinton said in her speech. “I've gotten to spend time with her and I know how deeply she cares about making our world a better place. She is serious about understanding the complex problems we face and pulling people together to solve them. We need champions like Katy now more than ever: her passion, her energy and, yes, her voice, louder than a lion.”

The pair greeted each other with a warm hug to the tune of Perry's "Unconditionally."

Along with Caryl Stern (President & CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF) and Pamela Fiori (Founding Co–Chairperson of the UNICEF Snowflake Project), Clinton presented the award to a beaming Perry.
