Announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook on Thursday, the latest feature for the messaging app is merely a convenient option for people with multiple accounts — say, if you have two SIM cards in one phone. Users will soon be able to switch between two WhatsApp accounts on one phone within the app.
It's something Samsung users have already been able to do with the Dual Messenger feature, which lets you send and receive messages from two accounts on the same messaging app.
It's the latest in a string of features and updates WhatsApp has been rolling out over the last few months including the ability to log in with passkeys on Android, enabling HD settings for sending photos and videos, an AI sticker generator, and the launch of Channels, which lets users follow celebrities and brands for updates.
