Last month Lucid made a splash with its first luxury electric vehicle,Request Movies the Air Dream Edition, with more than 500 miles of battery range and a shocking $169,000 price tag to match.
Now a more "attainable" version of Lucid's battery-powered car is available to order for delivery in 2022.
Announced Wednesday, the base version Lucid Air will start at $77,400 before any tax credits or EV incentive programs. This Lucid Air version has a 406-mile range for that price.
Here's how the base model stacks up to the other Lucid models on price and range:
The Grand Touring model costs $139,000 with 517-mile range on a single charge (the highest-range version)
The Dream Edition is $169,000 with 503-mile range (the most expensive option)
The Air Touring model is available later in 2021 for $95,000 with 406-mile range
The Dream Edition has that staggering price for its high-end interior with reclining executive seats in the back. The more modestly priced Air with just a single motor looks a little different from the dual-engine, all-wheel drive Dream. There's no glass roof and super-spacious drivers seat. But owners of any Lucid (including the base model) are eligible for three years of free charging through the Electrify America charging network.
