The Secret Sex Society (2018)practice of mindfulness is woven throughout the teachings of the Jedi, so Headspace's latest collaboration truly makes sense. Plus, you can fall asleep to the sound of porgs.
The mindfulness app is collaborating with Star Wars for some new breathing exercises voiced by characters and themed sleepcasts in time for May the 4th.
For time-stretched Jedis, Headspace will release "Breathe with Star Wars," five-minute animated breathing exercises featuring Yoda, BB-8, Chewbacca, and R2-D2. Each comes with its own animation, and one lets you use the Force to concentrate on your breathing.
With "Breathe with Yoda," every time you inhale, Yoda's eyes will close and his hand will stretch out and levitate an X-wing — on exhale, it'll descend back into the Dagobah swamp. Chewbacca's meditation is fittingly focused on managing strong emotions, so you'll join him in the forest on his home planet Kashyyyk. In R2-D2's meditation, the cheeky droid will move in a zigzag motion up and down the screen, and in the same fashion, BB-8 will roll from side-to-side.
For sleepy, scruffy nerf herders, the collaboration will see three new sleepcasts (stories meant to soothe you to sleep) set in Star Wars locations, letting users drift off to the sounds of ships and landscapes of a galaxy far, far away. Sure, I love "Cat Marina," but I'm keen to shake things up.
First, "X-Wing Voyage" will drop you into a starfighter and take a tour through the planets of the Star Wars galaxy. Like all Headspace sleepcasts, the trip will be a little bit different every time. "Tatooine Sunset," will take you to the the moisture farms outside of Mos Espa and the dune sea of the desert planet.
But what sounds like the best of all, "Islands of Ahch-To," lets you tour the very first Jedi Temple on the island where Luke Skywalker lived and drank blue milk. Yes, you can literally fall asleep to the sound of porgs.
Via GiphyThe new Headspace content will drop, of course, on May the 4th, the annual day in which Star Wars fans get to honour the perfect pun-making possibility of a mere date.
