On Monday evening,family Archives the world grieved the loss of rockstar and legend Tom Petty by listening to his music. His daughter, AnnaKim Violette, grieved the loss of her father.

Hours before his official death, she began shared photos of her dad. With each photo Violette has shared on Instagram, she's also posted a note—some long, others short but all about the wonderful father Petty was to her above all else.

"One week ago today I was watching my dad play. We showed up rushed to our seats. I got stoned had a beer the lights went dark," she wrote under one of the images. "[I] sat watching realizing I grew up on these songs; everyone grew up on these songs. This is real American Art made from the roots of real people who deeply love life."
