If 2016 has given us one thing,Telugu Archives it's a reminder that teens control our culture.

Teenagers from across the country have let crazy antics with viral hashtags unite them all year long, and we have to admit, we've loved every second of it.

From the #WaterbottleChallenge to the #BackpackChallenge, teenagers have kept us entertained from January to December, and it's time we recognized their valiant efforts.

Here are this year's best viral challenges that will have you wishing you were back in high school again...or not.

#WaterBottleChallenge

This challenge was simple. Flip a water bottle, and have it land standing up. The context of the flips, however, had the Internet in tears.

#TrapCover

This exceptional challenge awesomely combined protest and humor. In response to acoustic covers of Beyonce’s 'Formation' and Rihanna’s 'Work,' participants in the challenge hilariously turned unlikely pop songs into trap bangers.

The comprehensive gist of this challenge was pretty self-explanatory: put on 100 layers of anything. From 100 layers of nail polish to socks, this challenge really inspired a range of hilarious videos.

In this incredible challenge, participants would choose an unknowing friend or stranger, fall backwards in front of them, and just hope the person catches on before they hit the ground.

Popularized by Chance The Rapper, this challenge required participants to freestyle about whatever they're passionate about over Monica’s “So Gone” instrumental, and resulted in some pretty dope bars.

#MannequinChallenge

Oh, the mannequin challenge - the defining challenge of the year. From family parties to sold-out arenas, no social event was safe from a mannequin challenge video. In case you've already suppressed all memory from 2016, in this challenge, participants stand completely still (like mannequins) while a camera pans around them and "Black Beatles" by Rae Sremmurd ft. Gucci Mane plays.

In this epic challenge, someone calls "Andy's coming!" to a large group, and all participants previously in motion immediately drop to the floor á la Woody in Toy Story.

This might have been our favorite challenge of the year because it made no sense whatsoever. In this challenge, one brave person runs between two rows of lined-up participants, throwing their backpacks full-force at the runner.

Honorable mention: #XmasIsLitChallenge

So, this challenge didn't fully catch on, but it brought us so much joy, we just couldn't leave it out. Inspired by Instagram user i_got_barzz's dance video, The Shade Room attempted to launch a challenge where participants recreate the hilarious dance to the song "My Friends," by Mr. Hotspot.
