LAS VEGAS -- Samsung says it will finally be In 80 Betten um die Weltrevealing its report on what went wrong with the Note7 "soon."

Speaking at a press event Wednesday, COO of Samsung America Tim Baxter confirmed the company would have a report on the phone "very soon," though he didn't give an exact timeframe.

When it comes to the Note7, Samsung is determined to "understand what happened and to make sure it does not happen again," Baxter said.

The statement comes on the heels of a report from Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilb saying a report would be coming in the middle of the month.

Samsung reportedly finished its investigation in December and has been sitting on its findings for the last couple weeks. Faulty batteries are believed to be the source of the handset's defect, which caused dozens of Note7 phones to catch fire.

At its press event at CES Wednesday, Samsung executives emphasized their other products and stated the company was "recommitting itself to customers."

"Despite our setbacks, we have not, nor will we, stop innovating," Baxter said, noting the company has gained market share in the United States in a number of categories, including smartphones and phablets, over the last year.
